September Guest Artist
Ryan Morphew

The Gallery on the Square has a unique exhibit and sale opportunity during the month of September.  Young Ryan Morphew is a graduate of  Tri-West high school and recent graduate from the University of Southern Indiana where he majored in Art.  On May 30, 2010 Ryan had a catastrophic accident that has left him a quadriplegic. The Gallery is pleased to offer work created by Ryan before his accident.  Stop by to see the lovely work created by this talented young man, in Hendricks County’s only co-op Gallery, on the East side of Danville’s Court House Square.  Many of the pieces are for sale to help raise money for his recovery expenses. You may find more information on Ryan at: http://www.hendricks.k12.in.us/documents/RyanMorphewFundInformation.pdf

September Featured Artists

Rose Richard
Many regulars to the Gallery will recognize Rose as the friendly face who is manager of the facility.  But she considers herself an artist first, a moniker which was slow in coming, as she is a retired R.N.  After establishing an eleven acre classified Wildlife Habitat at their home, she began to chronicle the progress of their plantings with Photoshop, and her artistic talents grew from there.  You will find the fascinating images of nature have often been altered and enhanced with her computer expertise, and made into spectacular framed artworks, cards and smaller works.
Jerri Crosby
Jeri Crosby is first a potter,  who works with redware and stoneware clays to make functional as well as esthetically unique pieces.  Somewhere along the line she also discovered PMC (precious metal clay) which can be fired and buffed into exciting pieces of real silver jewelry.  Hence her one-of-a-kind necklaces, earrings, and bracelets.  Jerri teaches jewelry at the Gallery and clay (wheel thowing and hand building) , along with Bob Bowman, starting in October.
Jeri was one of the movers-and-shakers who worked tirelessly to propel the Gallery’s First Anniversary Toast project into a success in June.  She personally coated more than 1800 pieces of dried white bread  with “red” clay slip (thinned clay) so as to provide the medium tone needed for the 4230 slice mosaic reproduction of Grant Wood’s American Gothic.
